Harder Than Hell
The goal of every Christian ought to be to love more perfectly-and ultimately to get to heaven.  It is literally harder than hell to get to heaven.  It cost Jesus his life to open the gates, and it will cost us the same.  If our goal is heaven, we need to have a plan to see that this happens.  I believe our immediate goal should be to live a holy life.  What a tragedy if we as Christians don't become holy; holiness is what we have been created for.  And to be holy, to grow in our relationship with Christ, we must have a tangible plan. -Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR

Sacrifice and Comfort
CatholicMil's website specifically speaks to the concerns and sacrifices of Catholic military members and is a great comfort, not only to the deployed personnel, but to their families. The ability to share sacrifices and draw inspiration from others’ experiences is invaluable. (CO 2nd BN, 10th Marines, Iraq)
Over There

A small percentage of brave American servicemen have rifles pointed downrange. Most are fully engaged in humanitarian and reconstruction efforts. The mission: rebuild Afghanistan and Iraq after years of tyrannical oppression and neglect “Over There.”

FOB WOLVERINE, Afghanistan - Lit solely by headlamps, an illuminated fog rolls with every breath the chaplain speaks. Nearly midnight with Christmas approaching, a small group of deployed service members sit on the cold rocks of the helicopter landing pad huddled in a circle to hold a Catholic Mass.
"Mass can be held anytime, anywhere," said Capt. Carl Subler, a Catholic chaplain with the 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. "For Catholics, receiving Holy Communion is essential to their faith. Celebrating Mass in the field for the soldiers gives them a chance to do that, when otherwise they would go months without the sacraments."
